Filmfare’s Best Dressed

India’s most anticipated award show, Filmfare took place over this weekend, and while everybody’s excited about the awards they’re winning – what excites me the most is the outfits they chose! Here’s a round- up of my favorite looks our Bollywood starlets sported.

 

Top 3 Men’s Looks:

Fawad Khan

This Pakistani heartthrob played it safe in a Dior Suit, Armani Shirt and Dolce and Gabbana shoes – would have loved to see him in an electric blue suit, perhaps.

 

Varun Dhawan

This young Bollywood prodigy cashed in on the monochrome trend and stepped out in a white Emporio Armani Suit, paired with a black tie and black shoes.  What I absolutely love about this outfit though, is the little pop of color the red lapel pin brings!

 

Shahid Kapoor

What’s not to love about a man in a well tailored Tuxedo! Love the tailoring, love the bow tie, love everything!

Top 3 Women’s Looks:

 

Sonam Kapoor

Bollywood’s reigning fashionista never gets it wrong! Her Anamika Khanna ensemble just knocked it out of the park! The ornate embroidery and the organza tissue cape that lends a slight sheen was accentuated just the right amount of jewelry.

Deepika Padukone

Everyone was waiting on the edge of their seats to see what Bollywood reigning queen would come to the awards in! She chose a gown by a Lebanese designer – Ashi Studio. While I love the fitted embroidered bodice, the bottom half lacked the pizzazz the top half had.

Ileana D’cruz

This lovely lady definitely broke necks while she walked down the red carpet in this Nikhil Thampi pant suit.  That plunging neckline and the glamorous cape with that gold waist belt was just perfection!

HELLO…Is it the stars you’re looking for?

I can see it in your eyes, I can see it in your smile..I even saw it last night!

Yes, you got it right, award season has officially kickstarted. Did I mention it started with a BANG!

Last night I witnessed an event of sorts, one that was sophisticated, Chic and Oh-So-Fabulous. The theme for the night was one you can never go wrong with. It was a Classic Black & White affair. The décor was nothing short of opulent and breathtaking. Kudos to Ruchika Mehta & team Hello for pulling this off with such grandeur.

As expected, celebs were the highlight of the evening. But there were several socialites and industrialist’s who were dressed their best, I was definitely Impressed.

Let’s get down to business now shall we. It’s all about WHO WORE WHAT!

Some of the most gorgeous divas’s stepped out in  fine couture last night. Some were ravishing, others, not so much. Special mention to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor who wore  Andrew Gn and Ralph & Russo  respectively. They looked  FAB!

 

Unfortunately enough, I cannot say the same about the Dabang  girl, Sonakshi sinha’s Gauri & Nainika gown. Loved her new hairstyle, but her gown.. NOT so much! Something was just not right!

While the diva’s ruled the red carpet. It was new heathrob on the block, Fawad Khan who stole the show. Dressed impeccebly stylish, he could literally sweep any woman off her feet. Beware all you men, this ones a real lady killer!

All in all..It was one memorable night. HELLO, of course it had to be!
